My Lake Vacation Round-Up
If you read my last post My Lake Vacation Packing List you know that I was headed to Raystown Lake which is in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania for a little getaway. Here’s what I did and where I stayed.
Where I stayed:
We stayed at a cute cabin up in the woods. It was completely decked out with a woodland, rustic theme. Everything was made out of wood, and most of the furniture looked like it was made from branches. It had the full cabin in the woods aesthetic. Such a great place to stay and it was super close to the lake.
What I did:
Boating: The big event was going out on the boat as much as we could. We even tried to go out during one of the full moons, but there were a lot of clouds so we couldn’t see it very well. It turned into having to dodge very large bugs (and I mean they were HUGE) rather than relaxing in the moonlight.
On the last day that we went out, we went to an area that is called Party Cove. It was basically everything the name implies. One giant party. There were a bunch of houseboats lined up along the shoreline. One even had a live band playing on it. There were also tons of other boats all tied up together and everyone floating around in the water having a good time. It was pretty neat. I got a few pictures but they don’t do the experience justice.
Hiking: Near our cabin, there were a few ATV and hiking trails. We hiked all the way up to the top of one of the mountains that surround the lake and had an amazing view of the lake below! Such a rewarding journey and a great way to start a day.
Relaxing: This was all about playing board games, some cornhole, and making s’mores. We even went to this little mini-golf course. Even though the holes were all but identical with a couple that had an “obstacle” on them it was still a lot of fun. And we got ice cream! Ice cream makes everything better. My favorite flavor is Mint Chocolate Chip.
What I wore:
My bathing suit is from Lilly Pulizer. It’s so stylish and super flattering. It can be seen in the first picture in the “What I did” section. My sunnies in that same picture are Ray-Bans. My navy hat, anchor sweater, and crewneck sweatshirt are all from Kiel James Patrick. Nail Polish is bikini so teeny by essie. I wore a Patagonia hat and MG Palmer shirt hiking. I also finally go to break out my new Jack Rogers!
All in all, Raystown Lake is one of my favorites spots to visit. There is plenty to do at the lake and the surrounding area. It was a perfect getaway and it is always hard going back to the “real world” after being there.
